Chi 10k race update | Posted by Ian Fri 03 Feb 2012, 13:47:17 | Due to the predicted snow forecast before Sunday, I can confirm the following statement was given to me by the Chichester 10k Race Secretary.
- If there is more than 1 inch of snow, the race will be cancelled.
- If the Police say it is unsafe, it will be cancelled.
- If there is less than an inch of snow but a frost, then the route will be inspected to ensure there are no serious ice patches.
It may be right up until the start of the race when a final decision is made.
No details have been released whether the race will be staged at a later date.
Apart from that, cold or a little snow on the day, it goes ahead.
Fingers crossed, it will all be fine. Have fun, at least the cold will keep the running condition cool!
P.S. Don’t forget, a TZ team photo will take place before the race at 10am outside of the festival theatre. |

Message from Race Secretary | Posted by Ian Wed 02 Nov 2011, 16:46:30 | Hi Tone Zone Runners - Firstly, well done to everyone who raced this weekend, I know that there were some great results and P.B.s.
If you gained a PB or have a special note on your race, please let us know as we’re always keen to advertise your achievements.
Whist writing, can I respectfully remind you that if you are running under someone else’s name, you should try and notify the organisers of the change. We realise that some runners may occasionally use another runner’s number, and although we don’t advocate this, if you run under someone else’s name, please drop me a line through the website, or on Facebook so we can publish the correct results.
Thanks
Ian |

Club London Marathon Places | Posted by Committee Fri 07 Oct 2011, 14:16:51 | The club have 3 places which will be placed in a draw available to all those members, (subject to qualifying conditions - see details on website) who entered the 2012 marathon but received rejection letters.
If you wish to add your name to the draw a list has been put on the TZR Club Notice Board, at the Arun Leisure Centre,(base of the stairs leading to the gym).
The list will be available until the end of October and the draw will take place early November.
The successful members will be required to pay the "standard entry fee" . There is no obligation to raise money for charity, but if you decide to do so, we would ask that 50% of the money you raise goes towards the clubs nominated charity (this year it is The Friends of Bognor Hospital). We would also expect winners of club places to run in their TZR Vest (unless you choose to dress up as a fairy...rhino... banana etc) |

All covered in Mud !!!!! | Posted by Wendy Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:42:32 | Sunday 6th December was a day for many of our runners to get really muddy!!!!
Dave and Jade took part in the Doyen of the Downs 30 mile race. As Dave says "This was by far the toughest race we have ever done and the conditions were awful. Never seen mud so thick and it was incredibly slippery. Just when you thought that it couldnt get any worse we found that we had to go over a recently ploughed field!! After that, I took every opportunity to run through the huge muddy puddles just to make my shoes a bit lighter. Even climbing over stiles was hazardous as they were so muddy. I slipped over twice and its not a race I will be doing again. I was so tired at the end that although I was running I could only just catch up with runners who were walking."
We also had 8 runners that took part in the Duck Pond Waddle which was flooded in places and the mud was mostly ankle deep!!!
