May Round Up

Just 3 days after the record breaking Bognor 10k a small group of Tone Zone runners took on the Trundle 10k, which is an off-road race up to the top of the Trundle and back down again. Simon Gill finished in third place for the club with a very quick time of 37:38, followed by Jack Penfold with 43:49. Crossing the line shortly after was Sean Power in 45:48. Simon Hunt, Duncan Stephenson-Gill and Michael Manwill all running sub 50 minutes. Bognor 10k

A grand total of 83 Tone Zone Runners ran the Bognor 10k, on the first time that was organised by the local club. Conditions couldn’t have been better for the runners, meaning a total of 11 PB’s were picked up, this also included a handful of runners finishing high up in their categories, including Juliet Stallard finishing in 41:50 taking home 2nd place in her age category. Simon Gill was first home for the club and finished 5th overall in 34:25, as well as finishing 1st in his age category. April Marathon Round Up

April was a very busy month for Tone Zone runners with 52 marathons run by 47 of our members. We'll start at Brighton where 31 runners from the Bognor based club took part. Running her first marathon was Kari Mack who blasted to a new club female record time of 3hrs 20mins. Afterwards Mack said "What an amazing day. Have the biggest grin, sorest legs and weird blisters under my toe nails and wearing them all with pride! What an achievement by all the runners and the support was awesome!" Weekend Round Up

This weekend saw multiple Bognor Regis Tone Zone Runners in action. The most popular event of the weekend being the Gatwick Half Marathon, seeing 7 of our runners take part including one as an official pacer. First home for Tone Zone was Simon Gill, who ran as the 1 hour 30 pacer for the event, finishing with a time of 1:29:57. Simon said, “What a race, there were PB’s out there today and plenty in my group. Great work all.” Michael Manwill was next home in very respectable time of 1:37, closely followed by Tony Holcombe who finished 3 minutes later. Mark Williamson and Carl Bryant finished 1:48 and 1:49 respectively, Andy Miles finished just under the 2 hour mark. There was a personal best
