Edinburgh and a Wedding Challenge...

The weekend didn't start too well for five Tone Zone runners. They were due to fly to Scotland for the Edinburgh marathon but unfortunately their flight was cancelled while they were traveling to the airport, so they had to drive there which wasn't ideal preparation for a marathon. Sundays weather was glorious but as it was so warm it made the long run even more difficult. Making her marathon debut was Lucy-Jane Woodhouse who ran a superb race and finished in a great time of 4 hours 27 mins. The other runners were Jackie Williamson 4.19, Jo Hinckley 4.29, Viv Baker 5.18 and Wendy Cannon 5.42.

Jade Fish ran in the Weald Challenge 50 kilometre race in a time of 7.28. Joan Woolley also took part in an ultra run, finishing in 7.48.

Rebecca Jones and Sarah Stothard ran the Weald Half Marathon together finishing the course in 2.43.

The Lakeside 5k series continued in Portsmouth with Gary Mitchell carrying on his excellent form this year, he managed a new PB time of 21.02. Also taking part were Tony Hancock and Debbie Patching.
